Event Code of Conduct
RobotX as “Organizer” in collaboration with Swiss Robotics Association ("SRA") is dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe, and inclusive event experience for all participants, regardless of background or identity.
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff ("Participants") are required to comply with this Code of Conduct at all event venues, associated social events, and online event channels.
1. Our Values
We believe that the robotics community thrives when its members treat each other with respect, curiosity, and professionalism. This Event is a space for:
- Open exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing
- Constructive professional dialogue across disciplines
- Building connections between academia and industry
- Supporting diversity in the robotics community
2. Expected Behaviour
- Be respectful and considerate in all interactions, both in-person and online
- Use welcoming and inclusive language
- Be open to differing viewpoints and experiences
- Give and receive constructive feedback gracefully
- Respect the personal space and boundaries of others
- Follow the instructions of event staff and venue personnel
- Ask for consent before photographing or recording other attendees
3. Unacceptable Behaviour
The following behaviours are considered violations of this Code of Conduct and will not be tolerated:
- Harassment — including offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or level of technical experience
- Intimidation or threats — including deliberate stalking, following, or sustained disruption of talks, presentations, or networking sessions
- Unwelcome contact — physical contact or simulated physical contact without consent, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Disruptive behaviour — deliberate disruption of event proceedings, presentations, or activities
- Discriminatory material — display of sexually explicit or violent material, or material promoting discrimination
- Unauthorised recording — photography or recording of individuals without their consent, particularly in areas where consent has been explicitly restricted
- Commercial misconduct — aggressive or deceptive sales practices, misrepresentation of products or services at exhibitor booths
4. Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all event-related spaces including:
- The main conference and exhibition areas
- Workshop and breakout rooms
- Networking sessions, social events, and dinners associated with the Event
- Online channels and platforms associated with the Event
- Transport and accommodation arranged by the Organiser
5. Consequences
Participants asked to stop any harassing or disruptive behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
The Organiser may, at its sole discretion, take any action deemed appropriate in response to a violation, including:
- A verbal or written warning
- Removal from a specific session or area
- Expulsion from the Event without refund
- Prohibition from future SRA events
- Reporting to relevant authorities where legally required
6. Reporting a Violation
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it promptly. You may:
- Speak to any member of event staff
- Visit the registration or information desk

All reports will be treated confidentially. We will not disclose the identity of the reporter without their consent, except where required by law.
The Organiser will investigate reports promptly and take appropriate action. Participants involved in a complaint will have the opportunity to be heard.
7. No Retaliation
Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern or participates in an investigation is strictly prohibited and will itself be treated as a Code of Conduct violation.
8. Acknowledgement
By registering for this Event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
